We would like to provide further information about the first BonFIRE open call that closed on Wednesday 9th March 2011: the European Commission forwarded us 28 proposals - this has beaten all our forecasts!

We are very happy with this result because it means that BonFIRE project’s message has reached many proposers and that it makes a lot of sense. The field of "experiments on the Cloud" is very appreciated and relevant for the IoS research community. The competition is very high and the community is really keen on our BonFIRE facility.

The total budget over the 28 proposals is 6,230,850 euros (4,674,400 euros requested funding). The amount allocated to the first open call is 750,000 euros.
